As the weather warms up in May, Mountain House residents can enjoy lots of fun local events. From street parties and fairs, to Cinco de Mayo celebrations, to wine festivals, to live entertainment, there’s something for everyone. The Livermore Wine Country Festival is one of the Tri-Valley’s premier events and not to be missed. Also, Livermore is the host city this year for the Stage 7 Start of the Amgen Tour of California, so come watch the cyclists race in downtown Livermore. Don’t miss the Mountain House Annual Community Garage Sale on the 4th and the MHCSD Community Meeting on the 29th. At the end of the month, take the family to the Contra Costa County Fair. May 1: Pleasanton 1st Wednesday Street Party

May 4: “It’s Derby Time!” in Tracy
The Tracy Noon Rotary Club and the City of Tracy will be presenting “It’s Derby Time!”, the first ever live Kentucky Derby Event in Tracy. The event will take place on the Civic Center Plaza from 1 pm to 5 pm. The Plaza will be transformed into a Kentucky Derby Turf Club complete with Gaming and a wonderful Turf Club Buffet. May 4-5: 22nd Annual Livermore Wine Country Festival
The 2013 Livermore Wine Country Festival is the largest celebration of wine, craft brews, arts, crafts, shopping, dining, entertainment and hometown charm in the East Bay! Once a month (2nd Fridays), the lobbies of the Grand Theatre in Tracy will be transformed into a swanky Jazz night club from 8 pm to 10:30 pm. Main Street Music will present different Jazz musicians from the region each night and the Don Cose Arts Café will be open selling hors d’oeuvres , desserts, craft beers and featured wines. $8 at the door or Season Subscribers can buy a series pass for only $40. May 18: 2013 AMGEN Tour of California - Stage 7 Start in Livermore
This year Livermore was chosen as the Stage 7 Start City for the 2013 Amgen Tour of California, America’s most successful cycling race. The race will begin at 11:35 am at 3rd and K near Carnegie Park. Livermore, as a Stage 7 host, benefits from the start celebration between 10:00 am and noon, the pass-through excitement along Livermore Avenue around 2:00 pm, and the “finish” festival fun 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. May 17-19 : Lodi ZinFest Wine Festival
The annual ZinFest Wine Festival is Lodi’s premier wine tasting event. The three day celebration kicks off on Friday evening with the Vintner’s Grille at the Lake – a casual dinner under the stars with Lodi vintners and growers.
