National Cheesecake Day is July 30th
Friday July 24, 2020

Y’all, this Thursday, July 30th, is National Cheesecake Day! From cheesecake.com, cheesecake is known to be created on the Greek island of Samos, and was known as a source of energy for Olympic athletes throughout some of the first ever Olympic games. As the Romans conquered Greece and started expanding their empire, cheesecake was brought to the European countries which created their own unique versions. It wasn’t until the 18th century that cheesecake began to take on the shape and look of the cheesecakes we know today.
The addition of cream cheese to create the filling of the cheesecakes we know today is an American variation. By the 1900s, cheesecake had made its way to New York City, where you can find some of the best cheesecake in the United States. The best part about this classic dessert is that it can be found in so many different variations! Depending on the region, local ingredients, and cultures, you may find that your New York City cheesecake varies from your Philadelphia or your Chicago cake.
This week, we wanted to share some of our favorite cheesecake recipes from across the internet that you can try this week! Some chocolatey, some fruity, and of course some classic, you’ll be sure to enjoy this variety of decadent and mouthwatering recipes. Each one will bring excitement to your dessert table this Thursday!

Not only is this cheesecake delicious, but it looks picture perfect. This recipe uses a graham cracker crust for that toasty, sweet flavor base and a reduced blueberry sauce to swirl into the top to make your design. The blueberry swirl is a great way to safely get the kids involved in the baking process, and allows them to make the swirls they think are the most beautiful. Don’t worry, it all tastes the same in the end anyways.

These handheld desserts are so cute, perfect for the kids, and so addicting that you won’t be able to have just one. Best of all, you’ll be able to whip these up in under an hour. Start them right before dinner so you can get to cheesecake immediately after. Make them even more fun by making a blueberry or strawberry sauce for dipping and dunking. Store them in the fridge all week for dessert and snacking.
