The 2015 Holiday Season is here, and there are lots of festive events and activities around Mountain House to help you celebrate! There will be holiday parades and tree lightings in Tracy, Livermore, and Pleasanton; holiday fun for the family at the Dell’Osso Family Farm; and photos with Santa here in Mountain House at the Wickland Park Gazebo. October offers many fun events for the whole family to celebrate the autumn season in and around Mountain House. The kids will have a blast at Dell’Osso Family Farm’s Pumpkin Maze, at the Halloween Parade in Bethany, and at the Fall Carnivals hosted by Wicklund, and Questa School Foundations. If you think the kids will have all the fun this month, then you should visit Stockton’s Stocktoberfest and Pleasanton’s Brew Crawl. The ladies won’t want to miss Tracy’s Witches & Broomsticks Girls Night Out! If you enjoy art, antiques, and crafts, then you’ll definitely want to go to ArtWalk Livermore, the Pleasanton Fall Antiques & Collectibles Street Faire, the Lodi Street Faire, and the Danville Fall Crafts Festival. For quality entertainment, you’ll want to get tickets to see Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical at the Bankhead Theater. The ever-popular Mountain House Restaurant Night continues on October 13th and 22nd. Summertime is the ultimate playtime, and we asked all of you at Mountain House to show us how you get your fun in the sun! From splashing around on the splash pad, to kicking up some dirt playing sports in the park, you’ve shown us that no community does summer better than our community!
As summer comes to a close, there’s still plenty to do in and around Mountain House in September. Don’t miss the 150th Annual Scottish Highland Gathering & Games on Labor Day weekend. Taste local wines at events in Tracy, Livermore, and Lodi. Enjoy a night at the opera in Livermore featuring Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. If you love to run and stay active all while enjoying the company of great friends, check out the Mountain House Running Club. If you’re looking to train for a race or just love to run with your neighbors, you’ll want to join this fun and enthusiastic group! With over 400 members made up of residents of all ages and abilities, this popular Mountain House club still continues to grow. We were able to interview some of the Runners Club members and ask them what they love about the club and about the Mountain House community. Watch it below and find out why this group is a Mountain House favorite! In May, we wanted to get a better idea of what our awesome Mountain House kids are doing at school. More specifically, what are their favorite ways to learn? What aspects of school life made an impression on them this past year? We held a fun contest called See How We Learn to encourage kids to submit photos of them in their favorite school settings, with their favorite teachers, or participating in their favorite classroom activities.
Happy 4th of July! Don’t miss the Mountain House 10th Annual 4th of July Celebration, and then afterward head over to Tracy or Livermore for more fun and fireworks. This month you can also enjoy outdoor music and movie events in downtown Tracy, as well as Mountain House’s first Music in the Park of the summer and Mountain House’s first ever Shakespeare in the Park. You’ll find food, entertainment, and fun for the whole family at Brentwood’s Harvest Time Festival. And make sure you get tickets to see The King and I at the Bankhead Theater. The Mountain House Kite Run and Festival is one of the community’s most popular and most beloved events. The 5k and 10k Kits courses loop through Mountain House, between Livermore and Tracy, starting next to Central Park and circling the Creek Park. Our flat, fast loop course is always spectator friendly, so family members and neighbors can come cheer each other on. The park is, of course, a nature-oriented open space that extends along an existing creek and related wetlands, so you’ve got a run with a view.
Don’t miss all the family fun around Mountain House in June! Put your running shoes on and join the annual Mountain House Kite Run. Then bring your kite to Central Park for Mountain House’s signature event, the Kite Festival. Celebrate our Western heritage at the 97th annual Livermore Rodeo. Bring the family to the Alameda County Fair for fun, food, and entertainment. And don’t miss Tracy’s first Movies on the Plaza of the summer featuring Disney’s Big Hero 6!
